Treetops is a 4 bedroom detached bungalow in Moone village, approximately 20 minutes (19 km) drive from SETU Carlow and Carlow College. WIFI facilities from fibre internet connection, electricity, cooking facilities, and heating is included in price. Availability of kitchen and laundry facilities will be by agreement. Breakfast and evening meal can be provided Monday evening to Friday morning by arrangement for an extra fee. The house has central heating, double glazing and insulated walls givng warm bedrooms during winter evenings. Students will share the house with the owner couple. Non-smokers only please. Accommodation is available from Sunday evening to Friday morning inclusive. However, we can also accommodate a sports orientated student who may need to enter into a six night agreement from Sunday evening to Saturday morning or 5 night Monday evening through to Saturday morning. We have one large double sized bedroom (4.1m x 3.2m). It will comfortably accommodate one or two persons in two adult singles, or a 185 x 140 cm double bed for 1 person or a couple. The second room is a small double sized bedroom (2.95m x 2.85m) with a 177 x 136 cm double bed suitable for 1 person. Both bedrooms have a desk and wardrobe. The bathroom will be shared by the students only.
The accommodation would suit students with their own transport with off-road parking available in our front driveway. Good public transport is also available. The TFI local link 880 bus runs daily between Moone and Carlow from 08.13 to 20.25 Monday to Friday. The return bus from Carlow to Moone 07.00 to 19.30 Monday to Friday. The Moone bus stop is situated 650 metres from our front door. The JJ Kavanagh Waterford Dublin736 bus also operates daily to and from Carlow and will collect/drop off in Moone on the main road access point to the village. A train link operates from Carlow and Athy Stations on the Dublin-Heuston to Waterford Line. A Local Link bus connected to two trains in Athy each way to Dublin Heuston and Waterford. The Dublin-Heuston to Waterford train can also be connected from Carlow train station.
Our adjoined villages of Moone and Timolin with a 260 residents includes a community park with standard park exercise equipment. The Piers Cafe is an excellent affordable community cafe 650 mtrs from our home (at the local link bus stop). It opens from 7.30 until 14.30 daily. The cafe serves sit-in and take away barista coffee, breakfast and lunch. The local pub in Timolin is 850 mtrs walking distance. Grocery shopping, petrol stations, restaurants and pubs in Castledermot on route from university and 8 minutes (8kms) from home. A pub, small grocery and petrol station is also nearby in Crookstown 5 minutes (4.5 kms).
